The Geoprobe® system also offers a variety of sampling tools for active grab sampling of soil gas. Soil gas sampling can be a powerful tool in locating and delineating hydrocarbon contamination. The advantages of soil gas sampling are that a sample can be obtained with relative ease, and that the sample is in a gaseous phase for analysis by either field or laboratory gas chromatographs.
