Geoprobe® Hydraulic Subsurface Media Probing Services Soil sampling, groundwater sampling, and soil gas sampling using a Geoprobe
The Geoprobe® probing units are vehicle-mounted hydraulically-powered machines that use static and dynamic percussion force to advance small diameter sampling tools to retrieve:

soil samples
groundwater samples
soil gas samples

The Geoprobe® units provide the speed, mobility, and diversification necessary to maximize the number of samples obtained without increasing costs.

To assist you in understanding Geoprobe® technology, the following is a diagram provided by Geoprobe® Systems.
Geoprobe

Basics of the Geoprobe®:
• Hydraulic powered probe unit operated from a hydraulic system and driven by the vehicle engine.
• Remote vehicle ignition allows operator to start engine from rear compartment.
• Belt driven hydraulic pump supplies 10 gpm at 2000 rpm, 3000 psi operating pressure.
• Probe unit folds from transport.
• Utilizes static force (weight and vehicle) and percussion hammer to advance probing tools.
• Hydraulic hammer delivers percussion rate of 30 Hz.
• Probes have greater than 18,000 lbs down force and 25,000 lbs of retraction force.
• Drives multiple diameter probes (1", 1.25" and 2.25") to depths over 100 ft.
