Consulting

Impact Environmental provides consultation on all aspects of environmental engineering.

Impact Environmental can prepare applications for State Pollutant Discharge and Elimination Systems (SPDES) permits. The firm has filed and obtained numerous SPDES permits for industrial facilities involving both contact and non-contact processes.

Air process, exhaust or ventilation systems permits involving the preparation of stack test protocols and air impact analysis reports are executed with licensed stack testing firms. These permits and the associated reports are prepared in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws (6 NYCRR Part 212, 40 CFR Part 60).

Transfer station and disposal facility permit applications are filed pursuant to Title 6, NYCRR Part 360 specifications. Permit application strategies are designed to anticipate and relax public concerns.

Variance applications and hearings are handled in an effective manner designed to produce results.

Impact Environmental has designed and implemented numerous groundwater quality and contaminant migration fate studies for individual concerns as well as government inquiries. Groundwater modeling studies are used to further recommend remedial actions such as forced air vapor extraction, stripping towers and/or soil excavation and disposal.

Impact Environmental has successfully applied for and received numerous beneficial use determinations (BUDs) for non-hazardous petroleum contaminated soil recycling facilities. These BUDs have included such processes as converting non-hazardous petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated soils and foundry sands into asphalt paving products. In fact, Impact Environmental was the firm of record for the first petroleum contaminated asphalt recycling facilities in the states of New York and Indiana. These permitted facilities use a variety of recycling techniques developed exclusively by Impact Environmental, involving both cold- and hot-mix asphalt batching.

The BUD processes are unique in that they involve the recycling of material waste streams that are typically land filled. This option provides waste generators with indemnifications of liabilities associated with waste disposal.
